Game day at San Diego State is a mixture of a big-city sophistication, college football at its highest level, the best climate in America and a fan base that is accustomed to points and victories in bunches.  The ingredients come together in an NFL stadium that has hosted three Super Bowls and seen its share of dramatics over the years.

SDSU football has grown up with the city of San Diego.  Since the Aztecs began playing their home games in Mission Valley in the 1960s under the direction of Don Coryell, the traditions of night football and all-black uniforms have become important in the San Diego lifestyle.

Part of that lifestyle can be found leading up to the game.  Many can be found in the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot throwing a football around and barbequing in their red and black, enjoying a perfect Southern California afternoon.  Aztec football is not just a game, it is a ritual in San Diego.

First Honorary Warrior on 9/4/10 - Alum Marshall Faulk

Warrior Walk - Join the Aztec Marching Band Drumline as they lead the team to the stadium from the team bus stop in parking lot F-4 to the Qualcomm Stadium tunnel.
The Warrior Walk will start approximately two hours prior to kickoff and all fans are encouraged to attend.

Aztec Village - Following the Warrior Walk, head to parking lot F-1 for the Aztec Village pre-game tailgate featuring live music, food, beverages, games for the kids, and appearances by the Aztec Marching Band, dance team, cheerleaders, coaches, and athletes. The tailgate will end 30 minutes prior to kickoff.

Honorary Warrior - Make sure to get to your seats early to watch the Honorary Warrior stand guard over pre-game festivities, and lead the team onto the field.

Warrior Shield - The traditional warrior's shield will accompany the team on all travels and to the sideline at all games home and away. The shield will be held high by the captains during the singing of the Fight Song following home wins.

• The Aztecs have won 167 games in their 42 years of playing at Qualcomm Stadium, meaning SDSU has won nearly 65 percent of its home games at the Q.
