MWC Cross Country Championships Relocated to New Mexico

Oct. 23, 2007

SAN DIEGO - The 2007 Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships, originally slated for Saturday, Oct. 27, at Mission Bay, have been relocated to Albuquerque, N.M., due to the recent wildfires and poor air quality in the San Diego area.

The University of New Mexico will now play host to the meet on Oct. 27 at the UNM North Golf Course with the men's 8K set for 10 a.m. MT and the women's 6K scheduled for an 11 a.m. MT start.

This is the second time in the conference's nine-year history that the championships have been moved from San Diego to Albuquerque due to wildfires. The last time it happened was in 2003, when SDSU was to play host to the meet at Morley Field.

The Aztecs will head to New Mexico on Wednesday morning.
