Cross Country Picked 10th in MW Preseason Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The San Diego State cross country team has been picked to finish 10th in the Mountain West preseason poll in a vote by the league's coaches, the conference announced today.
The Aztecs garnered 20 votes in the poll, two ahead of 11th-place San José State's 18 and just three behind ninth-place UNLV (23). New Mexico, which has won the past five MW titles, was picked to win this year's championship with 100 points, including 10 first-place votes. Boise State came in second with 85 points, while Colorado State had 83 points and the other first-place vote. Air Force (72), Utah State (63), Wyoming (57), Nevada (47), and Fresno State (37) were picked fourth through eighth, respectively.
Last year, SDSU finished eighth out of nine at the MW Championships with 210 points.
San Diego State kicks off its season at the Mark Covert Classic in Brea, Calif., on Aug. 31.
This year's Mountain West Championships takes place at Air Force's Eisenhower Blue Course in USAF Academy, Colo., on Nov. 1.
