Sept. 13, 2001

SAN DIEGO - General public tickets are now on sale for the 2001 NCAA Women's Volleyball National Championship, to be held in Cox Arena on the San Diego State University campus Dec. 13th and 15th.

Over 5,000 tickets to the event have already been sold through SDSU's priority seating program. Tickets became available to the general public for the first time on Monday.

All-sessions tickets, which include admittance to the Thursday doubleheader as well the Saturday national-championship match, cost 35 dollars.

"We anticipate a sellout for the event," said Rick Bay, executive director of athletics and special assistant to the president. "Southern California is a natural setting for the top four women's volleyball teams in America. We have had great early sales obviously with the building already halfway to capacity. This looks to be another great NCAA event at San Diego State."

San Diego State was the first site to announce a sellout for the 2001 NCAA Men's Basketball Division I championship. That event was held at Cox Arena in March.

The Aztec ticket office can be reached at 619-283-SDSU or 1-877-SDSU-039.
