SAN DIEGO - Former San Diego State All-American Erin Asay won the women's competition and Tim Mack took home the men's crown at the Sheffield Elite Pole Vault Meet held at SDSU Sports Deck on Sunday, May 25.

Asay, an Aztec indoor All-American in 2006, tied Mary Vincent for the top vault after both cleared 14 feet, 1.25 inches. Coming in third was Melissa Sakowski (13-9.25) and was followed by Deborah Samson (13-1.50) and Susan Atwater (12-5.50).

On the men's side, Mack and Brad Walker posted clearances of 18-6.75 to finish atop the eight-person field. Derek Mackel and Rory Quiller, meanwhile, recorded the second-best heights after they ended the competition with vaults of 17-11.00.

Rounding out the top five was Mark Johnson, who cleared 16-11.00, and was followed by Andy Sullivan (15-5.00), Jonathan Collins (14-5.25) and Jeremy McGrath (14-1.25).
