SDSU Track and Field Finishes Up at Sun Angel Classic

TEMPE, Ariz. - Three athletes finished runner-up in their respective event to lead the San Diego State track and field team at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz., which finished late last night (Saturday night).
Lawreta Ozoh took second in the premier section of the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.96 seconds, while Josefine Koskinen finished second in the collegiate/open 800 in a season-best time of 2:10.57. The other runner-up finish came by Shanieka Thomas, who leapt 39 feet, 9 ¼ inches in the triple jump in the collegiate/open event.
Marianne Hogan, meanwhile, continued her impressive string of performances by taking third in the collegiate/open 5,000 in a new personal-record time of 17:05.05. The indoor school-record holder in the 5K, Hogan's time of 17:05.05 is the 10th-fastest in outdoor school history.
Amy Brown also ran a season-best time in the 800 collegiate/open event, taking eighth in 2:12.24.
The Aztecs head to the prestigious Mt. Sac Relays for Friday and Saturday competition.
