Outdoor Track and Field: Had one of the best seasons every by an Aztec ... captured the NCAA title on June 6 in the discus throw with a school-record toss of 196-10 ... she became the fourth SDSU individual champion and first since 1985 ... earned her second straight USTFCCCA All-American accolade for her effort ... the mark also got her into the U.S. Olympic Trials (June 22), where she finished 22nd (153-03) in rainy, sloppy conditions ... also was 13th at the NCAA Championships on June 8 in the shot put (53-09.25) ... was fourth at the NCAA West Prelims in the discus (181-03) on May 25 and fifth in the shot put (55-05.00) a day earlier ... the shot put mark was the second-best effort in program history ... captured two titles at the MW Championships in the discus throw (166-04) and the shot put (54-00.00), and was 12th in the hammer throw (164-10) ... made her outdoor debut at the Cal/Nevada Championships on March 31-April 1, and promptly won the shot put (53-05.50) and took third in the hammer throw (179-01) ... was second in both the shot put (52-06.00) and the Arizona Tri-Meet (180-01), and was ninth in the hammer throw (168-06) ... at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 21 was 11th in both invitationals of the shot put (52-11.00) and the discus throw (183-01) ... was runner-up in the discus throw at the USCD Triton Invite on April 27 (178-04) and sixth a day later in the shot put (54-01.00).
Indoor Track and Field: Earned first-team USTFCCCA All-America honors in the shot put by taking eighth at the NCAA Championships with a toss of 53-07.00 on March 12 ... competed at the U.S. Indoor Championships on Feb. 26 in the shot put and was seventh in 53-03.75 ... won the shot put at the MW Championships on Feb. 25 with a mark of 54-09.25 and was fourth in the weight throw (62-11.50) one day earlier ... the mark of 62-11.50 was the second-best weight throw effort in school history ... won all three pre-championship meets she competed in the shot put with marks of 53-02.25 at the Bronco Invitational (Jan. 21), 54-06.75 at the Air Force Team Challenge (Jan. 28) and a school-record mark of 55-07.50 at the Don Kirby Elite (Feb. 10) ... also competed in the weight throw in those last three meets, taking second at the Bronco Invitational (61-07.00), first at the AFA Team Challenge (60-07.50) and eighth at the Don Kirby Elite (62-05.00).
Outdoor Track and Field: Was one of the best all-around throwers in the country ... qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary rounds in three events - discus, shot put and hammer throw - but only competed in the discus and shot put ... advanced to the NCAA Championships in both events, taking fifth in the discus (173-05.00) and 12th in the shot put (51-08.25) ... ended up taking seventh in the discus throw en route to earning first-team USTFCCCA All-America honors ... the toss of 179-07 was third all-time at SDSU ... fouled in the shot put at the NCAA Championships ... won the High Point Award at the Mountain West Championships after winning the discus (170-09.00) and shot put (51-11.25), and taking fourth in the hammer in a school-record toss of 187-06 ... the two wins were part of seven on the season ... made her outdoor debut with a third-place showing in the hammer throw (147-10) at the San Diego City Championships on March 6 ... won the shot put (50-06.00) and took second in the discus (162-07.00) at the Aztec Invitational on March 19 ... had a good showing at the Cal/Nevada Championships, winning two events (discus - 163-11.00 and shot put - 50-02.75), and taking third in the hammer (179-07) ... was second in the hammer (183-10) and eighth in the shot put (47-07.00) at the Sun Angel Classic (April 8-9) ... won both the discus (171-05.00) and the shot put (51-11.00) in the open portion of the Mt. Sac Relays on April 15 ... also was 12th in the hammer with a toss of 185-07 ... was fourth in the discus at the USATF/OTC Open in Chula Vista, Calif., on April 29 with a throw of 165-09.75 ... was the runner-up in the discus (166-06.00) at the Steve Scott Invitational on May 1.
Indoor Track and Field: Broke two records in her first season on The Mesa ... was third in the shot put (49-01.50) at the Mountain West indoor meet, earning all-league honors in the process ... also was fifth in the weight throw (59-03.50) at the meet ... took third in the weight throw (56-02.00) and fifth in the shot put (46-04.25) at the New Mexico Invitational ... broke two school records at the Don Kirby Invitational on Feb. 11, winning the weight throw (61-05.00) and taking third in the shot put (50-04.50).
Was a two-time All-American at Cerritos College ... won the 2008 state championship in the discus ... was a league champion ... helped Cerritos to a pair of state championships (2008-09) and So-Cal championships ... had bests of 42-09.00 in the shot put, 151-01.00 in the discus and 103-0 in the javelin ... chose SDSU out of Cerritos after being recruited by Long Beach State.
Earned four letters at J.W. North High School in Moreno Valley, Calif. ... earned all-league honors ... was a league champion, CIF finalist and a state finalist ... helped the Huskies to the 2007 CIF championship ... also played four years of varsity basketball at J.W. North HS as a power forward.
