LAS VEGAS - The 47th-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team opened Mountain West Conference action with a 4-3 victory over Wyoming at Fertitta Tennis Complex on the campus of UNLV. The win was the Aztecs' sixth in a row and improves their record to 10-6 on the season (1-0 MWC).
SDSU continued its dominating ways in doubles, claiming all three decisions to take the early 1-0 lead. No. 51 Roxanne Ellison and Sierra Ellison defeated Simona Synkova and Kim van Ginkel at the top of the order, 8-7(4). San Diego State's other ranked duo, No. 74 Alicia Aguilar and Julia Wais, posted an 8-6 win at No. 2, while Julia Trunk and Emma Cioffi were 8-3 winners at third doubles.
In singles, SDSU took a 2-0 lead when Sierra Ellison cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Rebecca Berger at No. 5. Wyoming got on the scoreboard shortly thereafter when Sasa Nemvoca defeated Olivia Colman in straight sets to cut the Aztec lead to 2-1.

The Cowgirls put the finishing touches on the match with victories at Nos. 2 and 1, respectively, but their effort was not enough as the Aztecs logged the necessary four points to post their season-long sixth win in a row.
