No. 55 SDSU Women's Tennis Defeats No. 67 UC Irvine, 4-3

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State snapped a three-match losing streak by defeating 67th-ranked UC Irvine, 4-3, Saturday afternoon at Aztec Tennis Center. The No. 55 Aztecs improve to 4-4 on the season behind the strength of four singles victories, while the Anteaters fall to 3-4.
In singles, Dita Hauerlandova broke a personal four-match losing skid when she registered a straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, win over UCI's Becky Bernhard at the top position. Eliska Krausova, playing at No. 3, extended her winning streak to two as she defeated Izabela Mijic, 6-2, 7-6.
Two Aztec freshmen also got in on the act as Milana Yusupov was victorious at No. 4, beating Ashley Siddall, 6-1, 6-3, while Esther Cadua saw her singles record improve to 6-2 with her 6-2, 6-1 effort over Ali Borowicz at No. 6.
Earlier in the day, UC Irvine won two of three doubles matches to win the point despite SDSU's No. 2 team of Alesya Vidov-Krausova notching an 8-5 win over Inna Agababian-Heidi Kaloi.
San Diego State will return to the courts Friday, March 3, as it travels to Seattle, Wash., for neutral site match against Idaho. The contest is scheduled for a noon PST start.
