SDSU Swimming and Diving To Compete In Mountain West Conference Championships This Weekend
San Diego State will compete in the Mountain West Conference Championships this weekend in Oklahoma City, Okla. The four-day meet will take place at Oklahoma City Community College, and will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 22, with the one-meter diving and 200 medley relay events.

This will mark the seventh time in conference history that the event will be held at the Aquatic Center. The facility was built in 1989 and served initially as the outdoor venue for aquatic competition during the 1989 U.S. Olympic Festival.

The Aztecs will be looking to move up at this years title meet after finishing eighth at last year's championship event.

Aztecs Finish Season Strong
San Diego State ended its regular season by winning three consecutive dual meets and four of its final five to finish the 2005-06 campaign with a 6-8 record. In the four victories (San Diego (187-101), Pepperdine (156-143), Cal Poly (220-77) and Northern Colorado (175-116)), the Aztecs averaged 184.5 points and won by 75.2 points (184.5-109.3).

SDSU Among the Mountain West Leaders
The Aztecs are making waves in the Mountain West Conference as several athletes are ranked among the top-15 in the league.

Junior transfer Kimberlee Frith leads the way with the MWC's second-fastest time in the 200 free (1:51.48). She is also fifth in the 500 free (5:02.17) and seventh in the 100 free (52.22).

Sophomore Diana MacManus is seventh in the 100 back (58.20) and 11th in the 200 back (2:06.74), and freshman Rosalie Raymond is 11th in the 1,000 free (10:33.45) and 15th in the 1,650 free (17:47.63). It's All About Frith
Junior Kimberlee Frith had a meet to remember on the weekend of Dec. 17-19 in Las Vegas, Nev. Frith broke a 24-year old school record in the 200 free with a time of 1:51.48. The following day, Frith raced to the fourth-fastest time in SDSU history in the 100 free, clocking a time of 52.22 seconds. The time is only 0.12 seconds away from Heather DeFelice's record set during the 2001-02 season. She also set a team-best time in the 500 free (5:02.17) and still has the fastest time in the 50 free (24.68).
