LOS ANGELES - The San Diego State swim team won 11 of 13 events and swept a double-dual with Loyola Marymount and Cal Poly on Friday at Burns Recreational Center on the LMU campus. The Aztecs, who have won six of their last seven dual meets, defeated Loyola Marymount, 86-29, and Cal Poly, 89-26.

Along with the 11 top finishes, the Aztecs also recorded five 1-2 sweeps and four SDSU athletes recorded a win in two events. Friday's wins give the Aztecs a 9-3 mark in dual competition this season. The nine wins are the most since the program was reinstated in 1994. The previous best was seven wins, a mark set during the 1999-2000 campaign when the team went 7-7.

Senior Heather DeFelice recorded her fifth double-victory outing of the year with a win in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.95) and in the 100 freestyle (54.03). Senior Meghan Casillan took first-place in the 100 and 200 backstroke with times of 59.03 and 2:10.10, respectively. Sophomore Hannah Ryan won the 200 free (1:58.60) and the 500 free (5:17.29). Sophomore Megan Storey took first in the 1,000 free (10:20.24) and in the 200 butterfly (2:09.10).

The Aztecs' 1-2 sweeps came in the 200 and 1,000 free, 100 breast and 100 and 200 fly. Freshman Erin Whalen paced Ryan in the 200 free with second-place time of 2:00.25 and Erin Kilpatrick trailed Storey with a 10:28.15 clocking in the 1,000 free. Sophomore Jill Karacozoff finished second (1:08.15) behind DeFelice in the 100 breast. Senior Tara Johnson and sophomore Jennifer Graham finished 1-2 in the 100 fly with times of 58.63 and 59.59, respestively. Johnson finished behind Storey in the 200 fly at 2:10.04.

SDSU's remaining wins came courtesy of sophomore Jill Karacozoff, who swam to a time of 2:24.38 in the 200 breast, and the 400 free relay squad of DeFelice, Graham, Ryan and Kilpatrick. The quartet clocked in at 3:41.74.

SDSU concludes its regular-season schedule in Malibu on Saturday with a noon meet against Pepperdine. The 2002 Mountain West Conference Championships will be held in Oklahoma City Feb. 27-Mar. 2.
