San Diego State Softball Game Rescheduled

May 9, 2003

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State's second game of the 2003 Mountain West Conference Softball Championship tournament, originally scheduled for Friday at 4:30 p.m., has been changed to Saturday at 9 a.m. when the Aztecs (37-17) face Brigham Young University (35-15) at SDSU Field.

Should BYU defeat San Diego State, a rematch of the two teams will take place at 11:30 a.m. with the winner meeting Colorado State in the 2 p.m. championship game. The MWC tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

The change is due to the Aztecs' extra-inning thriller earlier on Friday in which SDSU defeated New Mexico, 4-3, in 14 frames. The duration of that game affected the schedule for the remainder of the day.
