SAN DIEGO -

New Page 1

GoAztecs.com: How did your fall season go?

Roshana Lavery: I'm actually just recovering from a thumb injury, so I was basically a ball-chaser. I still conditioned my legs, but I couldn't throw because my injured thumb was on my dominant hand.

GoAztecs.com: How about your first semester? What was your favorite class and why?

RL: It's been pretty hard, but I've learned how to adapt to it and I've learned a lot about work ethic. My favorite class was communications 103, which was a speech class, and political science. I was never into politics, but that changed when I took that class. This was a good year for that class.

GoAztecs.com: Why did you choose San Diego State? What other colleges were you recruited by?

RL: I chose San Diego State because it's close to home and it's a Division I program. I was also recruited by CSU San Marcos. Cal State Fullerton recruited me for soccer.

GoAztecs.com: What do you think of your teammates so far?

RL: I like them. At first, I felt out of the loop because I was a freshman, but now I've got to know everyone it's much better.

GoAztecs.com: What about the coaching staff?

RL: I really like the coaching staff. I love how Kathy (Van Wyk) is so strict and straight forward about everything.

GoAztecs.com: What do you think about getting the chance to play in SDSU Softball Stadium?

RL: I like the stadium a lot. It's really nice and I like how everything is so organized.

GoAztecs.com: Have you had the chance to play with any of your Aztec teammates prior to coming to SDSU?

RL: I played club ball with Felicia Reifschneider during travel ball season.

GoAztecs.com: What position do you see the coaching staff playing you at SDSU?

RL: I'll be playing outfield and probably a pinch runner.

GoAztecs.com: Did you play any other sports at Mission Bay High School?

RL: I played soccer, field hockey and I ran track my senior year.

GoAztecs.com: What was your favorite high school memory?

RL: I would have to say in soccer. I scored the winning goal in double overtime vs. Central High, a team from El Centro, in CIF.

GoAztecs.com: What club team did you play with?

RL: I played with the Aztecs and Third Degree.

GoAztecs.com: How did you spend your summer before coming to San Diego State?

RL: I worked out everyday with my dad, concentrating on my legs and I was able to throw a little more.

GoAztecs.com: Which game are you looking forward to most in the upcoming season and why?

RL: I'm looking forward to the Cal State Fullerton game and UCLA.

GoAztecs.com: Has there been any specific veteran teammate who has helped you get through the first semester?

RL: There's a few. Jen Wisneski helped me realize a lot of things first semester. Lindsey Marquez was someone I talked to about having an injury, because she is going one at the same time.

GoAztecs.com: What is your major at SDSU?

RL: Kinesiology

GoAztecs.com: What type of music do you listen to?

RL: I like everything, from old school to hip hop and even some country.

GoAztecs.com: What are some of your favorite television shows?

RL: Full House is definitely my favorite.

GoAztecs.com: What was the last movie you saw at the movie theater?

RL: My Best Friend's Girl

GoAztecs.com: If you could have dinner with anybody, past or present, who would it be?

RL: David Beckham
