McGlinchy Tabbed CS360 Primetime Performer
Oct. 31, 2012
SAN DIEGO - San Diego State's Rachael McGlinchy has been named to the CollegeSoccer360 Primetime Performer Weekly Honor Roll for the week of Oct. 22-28 for her performance in the team's 1-0 win over Mountain West foe New Mexico. She joins 16 others and is the lone player honored from the Mountain West.
McGlinchy played all 90 minutes on Friday and she was instrumental in limiting the Lobos to just three shots on goal. Her play in the backline kept the New Mexico offense in check and helped the Aztecs wrap up conference play with an unblemished mark of 7-0.
CollegeSoccer360.com names one top primetime player and other primetime performers following each week of competition. Selection for these weekly awards is based not just on raw stats, but on performance in a game involving a top-50 team or conference favorite, on the quality of the opponent, on the player's contribution to team success and strong leadership in clutch performances and overcoming adversity.
The Aztecs are the No. 1 seed in this week's MW Championship at SDSU Sports Deck. San Diego State earned a bye into the semifinal round and will play the winner of Wednesday's quarterfinal round match between (4) UNLV and (5) Fresno State on Friday at 7 p.m. PT.
