SAN DIEGO - The regular-season champion San Diego State women's soccer team has earned the No. 1 seed at the Mountain West Tournament, which will be held at SDSU Sports Deck. The championship begins with the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Oct. 31, followed by the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 2, and then the title match at 1 p.m. PT on Sunday, Nov. 4. The Aztecs, who finished regular-season play with an unblemished 7-0 record vs. MW opponents, have received a first round bye and open play in the tournament at 7 p.m. PT on Friday, Nov. 2. SDSU will take on the winner of Wednesday's quarterfinal match between fourth-seeded UNLV (11-3-4, 3-1-3 MW) and fifth-seeded Fresno State (4-10-5, 2-3-2 MW). San Diego State heads into the conference tournament having not dropped a match in its last 11 outings, going 10-0-1 in the process. That streak includes six consecutive wins on the road as the Aztecs are off to their best start in program history at 17-1-1. In the upper half of the bracket, New Mexico (10-6-2, 4-2-1 MW) earned the No. 2 seed after winning the tiebreaker with Boise State (9-8-2, 4-2-1 MW). The Lobos received a first round bye, while the Broncos are the third seed and will face Nevada (6-9-3, 2-3-2 MW) who claimed the No. 6 seed.
