Keane Earns CSM MW Player of the Week Award
Oct. 1, 2013
SAN DIEGO - Hannah Keane for the second straight week has been named the College Sports Madness Mountain West Player of the Week.
Hailing from Sacramento, Keane scored three goals, including a pair of game-winners, in helping the Aztecs open league play with a 2-0 record. The forward was consistently an offensive threat over the weekend, tallying 14 shots with six coming on goal.
In the game vs. Fresno State, Keane got the Aztecs on the scoreboard in the 28th minute and provided the clincher in the 77th. She finished with a game-high five shots and the two she put on net ended up getting past the Bulldog keeper.
Two days later vs. San José State, Keane was at it again, giving SDSU a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute. Her third of the weekend ended up being all the scoring the Aztecs needed as they went on to post the 2-0 victory. Keane attempted a career-high nine shots and put a personal-best four on net against the Spartans.
The last two weeks, Keane has scored six goals to go along with her two player-of-the-week awards. For the season, she has seven goals, which matches her 2012 goal production, and 16 points overall.
The Aztecs return to action on Friday, Oct. 4, when they play host to Colorado State. Admission to the 7 p.m. PT game at SDSU Sports Deck is free.
