SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's golf team heads to the Sunshine State for the 2013 SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational. The three-day, 54-hole tournament is set to begin on Friday, March 15, in Gainesville, Fla., at the 6,074-yard, par-70 Mark Bostick Golf Course.

The field will feature 15 teams with the Aztecs being the only school west of the state of Texas. Headlining the event is third-ranked Alabama, No. 5 Florida, No. 11 North Carolina and the hosts and No. 19 Florida. San Diego State enters the tournament as the No. 46 team in the land.

First-round action gets going on Friday for SDSU at 9:45 a.m. ET on the 10th hole and the Aztecs will be competing with Miami (Fla.) and Kent State. Second-round action will start at holes No. 1 and 10 starting between 9 a.m.-11:06 a.m. ET. The final 18, meanwhile, will be a shotgun start between 8:45 a.m.-11:06 a.m. ET. Live results will be available through GolfStat.com.

San Diego State is coming off a ninth-place effort at the Bruin Wave Invitational last week in Tarzana, Calif. Emma Henrikson was the Aztecs' top performer, finishing in a tie for 16th place after firing a 228 (+12) for 54 holes. Paige Spiranac came in just behind Henrikson, carding a 15-over 238, which was good for a 23rd-place tie, and Christine Wong registered a 24-over 240 (T-42nd).

Through 20 rounds, Henrikson owns the seventh-best scoring average in the Mountain West at 75.35. Wong, meanwhile, is second among all Aztecs and 15th in the league with a 76.55 scoring average.

Following the trip to Florida, San Diego State will return to action March 31, when it plays host to the SDSU Farms Invitational in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
