SDSU Finishes Tied For 11th At Golfweek Challenge

WOLCOTT, Colo. -- A day after firing a hole in one on the 17th hole, San Diego State senior Christine Wong carded a third round score of a 1-over 73 on Wednesday to finish in a tie for 13th with a final score of 4-over 220 at the Golfweek Conference Challenge. As a team, the Aztecs finished in a tie for 11th at the par-72, 6,236-yard Tom Fazio course at the Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colo. Freshman Emma Henrikson, who started the day in a tie for 42nd place, gained some ground on Wednesday when she shot a 3-over 75 to finish tied for 36th with a 12-over 228. Fellow first year Aztec, junior transfer Maureen Dunnagan was unable to replicate her impressive performance from a day earlier as she came in 65th after notching a 9-over 81 to finish at 20-over (236). A day after falling in the standings, sophomore Kristina Lynn improved on her score from day two with a 10-over 82 on Wednesday to finish in a tie for 76nd at 27-over (243). Senior Gina Clark, meanwhile, had a tough day as she finished tied for 79th after tallying a 16-over 88 for a final score of 29-over 245. SDSU will now prepare for a trip to the Sahalee Country Club in Seattle, Wash., for the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational from Oct. 8-10. Golfweek Conference Challenge Team Scoring T11.
