SDSU Crew Heads Back to Lake Natoma for Pacific Coast and Pac-10 Rowing Championships
The San Diego State women's crew team will send its lightweight eight boat to compete at the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships on Saturday, while the varsity eight, second varsity eight, novice eight and varsity four boats will take part in the Pac-10 Championships on Sunday. Both championships take place at Lake Natoma in Sacramento, Calif. The championships will mark the final races for 11 seniors.

The lightweight eight boat is ranked sixth in the latest USRowing Women's Lightweight Eight Collegiate Coaches Poll with 113 votes. Ahead of SDSU is Princeton (160 votes), Wisconsin (152), Radcliffe (143), Stanford (137) and Georgetown (126).

Coach Jennifer Zebroski on Captains/Seniors
Captains: "Kristen (Olson) and Sarah (McKillip) both displayed great leadership skills and were good liaisons between the team and coaching staff. I am thankful that we had such great supporters and leaders this year. Next year's captains are going to have big shoes to fill."
Alison Abrams: "Ali is not only an amazing coxswain, but an amazing person as well. As a coxswain, she is continually trying to improve herself and her athletes."
Erin Fouche: "Erin is an extremely positive student-athlete, and is always keeping things lighthearted and positive at the boathouse. Her good-natured personality is contagious among the team."
Sarah McKillip: "Sarah is a born leader and is continuously looking out for what's best for the team. She is a great rower, is technically efficient and a great boat mover."
Brittany McMahon: "Brittany is an amazing athlete, who recently was accepted to the pre-elite camp in Seattle, Wash. She had great expectations of herself and the team, and kept that standard high throughout the season."
Vanesa Meses: "Vanesa is a fourth-year rower who has been very consistent on the erg and on the water. She is a versatile and flexible rower, and has been an asset to every boat she has been in this year."
Kristen Olson: "Kristen has a great combination of intensity, desire, and determination. She also embodies a great leader and has improved tremendously after transfering in (to SDSU)."
Ashley Paiko: "Ashley is very efficient in the boat and is technically a great rower. She has come so far this year as a rower and erger."
Rachel Saldivar: "Rachel is a fourth-year rower who is dedicated to the team and the Aztecs. Despite her knee injury, Rachel has been a tremendous supporter of the team this year."
Adora Salvati: "In two years Adora has proved what a strong athlete she is and what a great asset she is to the progra. I will miss Adora's desire, intensity and fire during water practice and on the ergs."
Johnna Trabucco: "Johnna's enthusiasm and positive attitude helped tremendously in practices. Her willingness to learn from the other coxswains and team members helped in her transition as well.
Maryann Wahhab: "Maryann helped last year's novice eight place first out of 19 boats at WIRA. Despite being injured and unable to row, she has been extremely supportive of the team and has continued to come to practice every morning,

SDSU Wins Team Points Trophy at WIRAs
The lightweight eight boat won the grand final to help the Aztecs to the team points trophy, an award given to the team with the most overall points in the tournament.

The lightweights took first of four boats with a time of 7 minutes, 6.4 seconds, beating out UC Santa Barbara (7:10.6), Loyola Marymount (7:22.8) and California (7:28.1).

The novice eight and second varsity eight boats also participated in Sunday's grand final. The novice boat finished just 1.3 seconds back of first place Sacramento State (7:06.5) with a time of 7:07.8, while the second varsity boat finished fourth (7:08.1) in its respective heat.

In petite final action, the varsity eight boat finished in third place within three seconds of UC Davis (6:53.7) and UC Santa Barbara (6:54.9).
