SDSU Rowers Take Two Events At Pacific Coast Championships

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. - The San Diego State women's rowing team came away from Saturday's Pacific Coast Rowing championships with first-place finishes in the grand finals of the novice four and varsity four events. The regatta was held on Lake Natoma.

The Aztecs' varsity four boat clocked in at 8:06.6 in the grand final after posting a 7:57.6 first-place finish in the morning's qualifiying heat. The varsity four squad has posted top finishes the last three weekends including winning the WIRA championships on the same Lake Natoma course on April 28.

The novice fours raced to a time of 8:48.5 in the grand final beating out UC San Diego and California. The Aztecs also placed first (8:12.6) in their qualifying heat.

The SDSU rowing team is set to compete in the Pacific-10 championships tomorrow. That event will also be held on Lake Natoma.
