Varsity Four Rowers Extend Streak

May 5, 2001

SEATTLE - The varsity four squad of the San Diego State women's rowing team extended its win streak to two after racing to a first-place finish in Saturday's Windermere Cup on Montlake Cut.

The Aztecs completed the 2,000-meter course in 7:25.83 ahead of the Washington "A" boat that clocked in at 7:26.65. Washington State (7:28.57) took third-place honors followed by Seattle Pacific (7:36.81) and the Washington "B" team (7:37.96).

Today's victory comes on the heels of last weekend's top finish of 7:37.0 at the WIRA championships on Lake Natoma in Rancho Cordova, Calif.

The SDSU rowing program will be in Sacramento next weekend for the Pacific Coast Rowing championships on Saturday and the Pacific-10 championships day later.
