SDSU Game Notes vs. USD in PDF Format
After a 22-point victory at UC Irvine, the San Diego State women's basketball team returns to Viejas Arena for its 2009-10 home opener against cross-town foe, USD, on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. The two sides, who are both 1-0 on the year, are meeting for the eighth consecutive season. On Friday, the Aztecs used a 12-0 run in the second half to widen their 10-point halftime advantage and defeat host UC Irvine, 64-42, in both schools' first game of 2009-10. The team captured its third-straight season-opener and came out with its sixth consecutive regular season non-conference victory. SDSU will be looking to go 2-0 to start a campaign for the third straight year, but only the 10th time in program history. While the Aztecs dominated the early part of the series with USD, capturing 24 of the first 25 meetings, the Toreros have won six of the last seven, including a three-point decision a year ago, 63-60, at Jenny Craig Pavilion. USD was one of only two teams to hand the Aztecs a loss in 2008-09, who did not move onto the NCAA tournament (also Wyoming). Tuesday's game with the Toreros will feature a live audio and video feed with Chris Ello, as well as live stats on goaztecs.com.
