SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's basketball team will play host to Cal Lutheran on Tuesday, Nov. 6, in the squad's lone exhibition contest of the 2012-13 season. The game is set for 7 p.m. PT inside SDSU's on-campus facility, Viejas Arena.
The Aztecs enter the season as the preseason Mountain West favorites, according to the MW preseason media and coaches' poll. SDSU received 22 of 24 first-place votes and garnered 198 points, outpacing Fresno State, which earned the other two first-place votes and 163 points.
The reigning Mountain West regular-season and tournament champions also boast the league's preseason player of the year and all-conference selection Courtney Clements. Joining Clements on the preseason all-MW team is Chelsea Hopkins. Deajanae Scurry, meanwhile, was voted the league's freshman of the year.
The Aztecs enter the campaign ranked No. 25 by Lindy Sports, but find themselves just outside the preseason Associated Press Top-25, checking in at No. 31.
Cal Lutheran, meanwhile, is coming off a season in which it posted an 18-10 record. The Regals are a Division III team that competes in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).

SDSU opens its regular season on Saturday, Nov. 10, when it travels to UCLA to face the Bruins at 7 p.m. PT inside Pauley Pavilion. UCLA finds itself in the receiving votes section of the AP poll and is 35th, 34 points behind the Aztecs, who earned 48 points.
San Diego State returns three starters and eight letterwinners off a conference championship team that finished with a 25-7 overall record (12-2 MW) and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The 2012 postseason appearance was SDSU's third in the last four years.
