San Diego State has been picked to win the 2012-13 MW title.

SAN DIEGO - The Mountain West revealed its preseason poll and all-conference team today and San Diego State has been picked repeat as league champions in 2012-13. In addition to being tabbed as the favorite, SDSU student-athletes Courtney Clements, Chelsea Hopkins and Deajanae Scurry all picked up preseason accolades.

The Aztecs received 22 of 24 first-place votes and earned 198 points to claim the top spot in the preseason poll. Fresno State garnered the other two first-place votes and had 163 points overall. UNLV (137 points), Wyoming (136) and Colorado State (109) rounded out the top five, and were followed by New Mexico (97), Boise State (86), Nevada (41) and Air Force (32).

Reigning conference player of the year Clements was selected as this year's preseason player of the year. The 2012 AP and WBCA All-American was also named to the preseason all-Mountain West team after averaging a league-best 17.4 points in 2011-12.

Joining Clements on the five-player all-league squad is Hopkins. The senior guard returns for her final campaign as the Mountain West's top returning assist leader after averaging 6.53 last year. The preseason selection comes after a junior effort that saw her earn MW Newcomer-of-the-Year, MW first-team and MW tournament MVP accolades.

Scurry is the Mountain West's preseason freshman of the year. The Los Angeles native redshirted last year and arrived at SDSU as a four-star recruit and the 31st-ranked forward in America by HoopGurlz. As a senior at Inglewood High, the all-CIF performer averaged a double-double and led Inglewood to the league title.

The poll and the preseason team were voted on by a panel which consisted of the league's nine head coaches and select women's basketball media from around the conference.

The Aztecs enter the 2012-13 season ranked No. 25 by Lindy's Sports and will start their season with a 7 p.m. PT exhibition contest vs. Cal Lutheran on Nov. 6, inside Viejas Arena. SDSU's season opener is scheduled for Nov. 10, at UCLA (7 p.m. PT).
