SAN DIEGO - Aztec basketball's Beth Burns, who recently completed her 17th season as a collegiate head coach, is scheduled to speak next Thursday, May 7, at the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches annual clinic and convention in San Antonio, Texas. Burns' speech will take place on the opening night of the three-day event, which is expected to attract over 2,000 coaches, beginning at 6:15 p.m. CT at the Municipal Auditorium.

She is among seven elite Division I men's or women's head coaches slated to speak at the convention, which also includes California's Joanne Boyle, Villanova's Jay Wright, Notre Dame's Mike Brey, Florida's Billy Donovan, Duke's Joanne McCallie and Oklahoma's Jeff Capel.

Burns led SDSU to a 24-8 overall record and a 13-3 mark in conference play in 2008-09, capturing a share of its first-ever Mountain West Conference regular season title and advancing to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
