SDSU Takes On New Mexico In MWC Championship Game Saturday

-TV/Radio/Live Stats: Saturday's outing will be televised live nationally on VERSUS with Tim Neverett (play-by-play) and Tim McCormick (color) calling the action. -The Records: The San Diego State women's basketball team (18-12) will look to continue their improbable run Saturday when the Aztecs make their first-ever MWC championship game appearance at 1 p.m. PT against defending champions New Mexico at the Thomas & Mack Center. The Aztecs logged their second consecutive upset of the week, defeating No. 2 seed TCU Friday in the final moments, 69-67, to become the highest seed ever to advance to an MWC tournament final. On the line is the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament and SDSU's first conference championship since 1997.
-SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the third year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She led the Aztecs for eight seasons from 1989 to 1997, before returning in 2005. She has an overall head coaching record of 264-200 in 15 seasons, while she is 183-135 in her 10 previous campaigns at SDSU.
-New Mexico Head Coach Don Flanagan: Flanagan is in his 13th season at New Mexico. His school and career coaching record is 282-125.
