Aztecs Take On No. 23 New Mexico On Senior Day Saturday

-The Records: The San Diego State women's basketball team says goodbye to five players Saturday as the Aztecs welcome No. 23/22 New Mexico to Cox Arena for the final home game of the 2005-06 campaign. Three seniors, Lindsay Goldblatt, Veronica Shaw and Michelle Strawberry, along with a pair of redshirt sophomores, Courtney Fritz and Jordie Smith, will be honored prior to tip-off.
SDSU is coming off a 67-49 loss to its first of two ranked opponents this week, the No. 21/18 BYU Cougars, Wednesday night. New Mexico, meanwhile, is 19-7 overall and 9-4 in conference action and won its first league outing of the week, 79-53, over Air Force at home in Albuquerque, N.M.
-San Diego State Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the first year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She coached the Aztecs from 1989 to 1997 and has a school record of 154-104 in nine seasons. Her 14-year head coaching record stands at 235-169.
-New Mexico Head Coach Don Flanagan: Flanagan is in his 11th year as head coach of the Lobos and owns a school and career record of 236-101.
-New Mexico Series History: New Mexico leads the series 18-13, but it's tied at 6-6 in games played in San Diego (Last: New Mexico def. SDSU, 76-45, in Albuquerque, N.M., on Feb. 25, 2005).
