Aztec Women's Hoops Looks For Third-Straight MWC Victory Thursday At Air Force

The game is being televised by the mtn., featuring Bill Doleman (play-by-play) and Krista Blunk (analysis). -The Records: After starting the second round of MWC play with two-straight home victories, the San Diego State women's basketball team hits the road for a one-game trip at Air Force on Thursday night at Clune Arena. The Aztecs have put together back-to-back league wins for the first time since 2003, after defeating Utah on Feb. 3, and most recently, UNLV, 67-54, on Feb. 8. SDSU is currently tied with the Lady Rebels for sixth place and can claim three-straight conference victories for the first time since 1996-97, when the Aztecs played in the Western Athletic Conference. SDSU is seeking its second victory this year over Air Force and can sweep the season series for the fifth time in eight tries. The Falcons are currently 4-18 overall and are 0-11 in league action in 2006-07. -SDSU Head Coach Beth Burns: Burns (Ohio Wesleyan, 1979) is in the second year of her second stint as head coach at San Diego State. She led the Aztecs for eight seasons from 1989 to 1997, before returning in 2005. She has an overall head coaching record of 246-182 in 15 seasons, while she is 165-117in 10 campaigns at SDSU. -Air Force Head Coach Ardie McInelly: McInelly is in her sixth season at Air Force and owns a school record of 38-124. McInelly's overall head coaching record stands at 115-186 in 11 years. -Air Force Series History: SDSU leads the overall series (15-4) and is 7-2 in games played in Colorado.
