Aztecs Play Second Consecutive Road Game At Utah
Feb. 8, 2011
The San Diego State women's basketball team plays its second consecutive road game and its third in the last four outings, when it travels to the University of Utah on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. PT/7 p.m. MT tip-off at the Huntsman Center.
The Aztecs are looking to end their current five-game slide, which includes just their fifth double-figure loss of the season on Saturday at TCU (63-52). After jumping out to a nine-point advantage early, SDSU managed only two points and did not hit a field goal in the final 13:39 of the first half vs. the Horned Frogs. The Aztecs cut their 10-point halftime deficit down to only three after the break, but was unable to answer another strong TCU run. The offensive effort is the team's seventh in a row to fall below the 60-point barrier.
Utah, meanwhile, won its two games last week, defeating both UNLV and Air Force after losing four of its previous five contests. The Utes, under first-year interim head coach Anthony Levrets, are 12-11 overall and are tied with Colorado State for fourth in the MWC with a 5-4 record.
Each of the last two meetings between San Diego State and Utah have gone to overtime with the Aztecs winning in the Mountain West Conference championship game last March and the Utes coming out victorious last month 70-67 at Viejas Arena.
Wednesday's contest, which is the 46th all-time between the two sides, will feature a live audio call with Chris Ello, as well as live stats on goaztecs.com.
