SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's tennis team opens its 2012 dual-match season on Sunday at the Aztec Tennis Center. SDSU is set to take on Cal Poly at 10 a.m. PT before returning to the courts to face UC Riverside at 4 p.m. PT.

The Aztecs have eight returnees from a team last season that advanced to the semifinal round of the Mountain West Tournament. SDSU returns all-conference singles selection Javier Pulgar and all-conference doubles selection Hunter Nicholas, along with Derek Siddiqui and Jose Sierra Short. The Aztecs also return Juan Florez and Shiva Sangwan and Thorsten Bertsch, Freddy Gelbrich and Andranik Khachatryan.

San Diego State defeated UC Riverside 7-0 last season, while the Aztecs last defeated Cal Poly in March 2008 by the same margin. Following Sunday's doubleheader, SDSU will travel to Irvine, Calif., to take on UC Irvine. The Feb. 3 match is set for a 1 p.m. PT start.
