San Diego State Hands Yale 5-2 Defeat in Men's Tennis

SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State claimed the doubles point and followed up with four straight-set singles wins as the 61st-ranked Aztecs defeated Yale 5-2 in men's tennis on Saturday afternoon at Fairbanks Ranch Country Club.
The Aztecs won the doubles point for the first time in three matches despite a loss at number one. Michael Coehlo and Armando Carrascosa won at number three and Markus Dickhardt and Dontia Haynes clinched the doubles point for San Diego State with a win at three.
The top portion of the Aztec singles lineup continued to play well as SDSU received victories at the top three positions. The Aztecs went up 2-0 when Dickhardt won 6-1, 6-2 at number two. San Diego State added to the lead when 69th-ranked Hardt won 6-4, 6-0 at number one and clinched the match when Carrascosa posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number six.
The Bulldogs scratched out hard-fought victories at number three and number four. Jung closed out the scoring for SDSU with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at number three.
San Diego State improves to 5-4 on the campaign, while Yale falls to 7-8.
