Men's Tennis Earns 4-3 Victory Against William & Mary

SAN DIEGO - The No. 42 San Diego State men's tennis team defeated William & Mary, 4-3, on Tuesday afternoon at the Fairbanks Ranch Country Club. With the win, SDSU improved to 6-3 on the year and the Tribe dropped to 8-10 this season. SDSU picked up one win in doubles as the duo of Thorsten Bertsch and Derek Siddiqui earned an 8-4 victory against John Banks and Ilja Orre. In singles play, the Aztecs tallied four wins to clinch their six victory of the season. At No. 1, Javier Pulgar defeated Anton Andersson by the score of 7-5, 7-5. Derek Siddiqui was also victorious, notching a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win against Ben Guthrie at No. 2. Thorsten Bertsch then cruised to a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Adrian Vodislav at No. 3. Freddy Gelbrich, meanwhile, defeated John Banks, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3 at No. 4. Up next for San Diego State is a trip to Tucson, Ariz. to face Arizona on March 10 and New Mexico State on March 11.
