No. 63 Men's Tennis Drops 7-0 Decision To No. 8 UCLA

SAN DIEGO - The No. 63 San Diego State men's tennis team picked up one win in doubles against eighth-ranked UCLA, but was unable to notch a victory in singles play as the Aztecs dropped a 7-0 decision on the road. With the loss, SDSU falls to 3-1 on the year, while the Bruins improve to 7-0 on the season. In doubles play, the duo of Thorsten Bertsch and Derek Siddiqui picked up the lone win for the Aztecs as they defeated Alex Brigham Marcos Giron, 8-7 (5). Despite coming up short in singles, San Diego State took two of its matches to three sets. Thorsten Bertsch picked up a win in the first set against No. 86 Marcos Giron before losing 2-6, 6-4, 11-9. Freshman Rickey Baylon, meanwhile, forced his match against No. 94 Adrien Puget to a third set before dropping a 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 decision. Up next for the Aztecs is a trip to Las Vegas, Nev., as they face off against Oklahoma State on Feb. 11. The neutral-site match is set for a 2 p.m. PT start at Fertitta Tennis Complex.
