Pair Of Aztec Men's Soccer Players Earn All-Conference Accolades
Nov. 17, 2004 SAN DIEGO - San Diego State men's soccer players Heath Creager and Colin Jennings have been named all-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation selections, the conference office announced Tuesday. Creager, a junior midfielder, was named to the all-MPSF second team, while Jennings, a sophomore defender, received honorable mention recognition. Creager, a Glendale, Ariz., native and transfer from Indiana, earned his second all-MPSF honors, following his honorable mention selection in 2003. He scored a goal and notched a pair of assists for the Aztecs in 2004, and was tied for fourth on the team in points with four. Creager was second in shots (33) for SDSU and was third in shots on goal (11). His lone goal came at an important time for SDSU, as he drove through the New Mexico defense and notched the game-tying shot in the last minute of regulation against the No. 2 Lobos. Jennings, a San Diego native, earned his first all-MPSF recognition with his stellar play as a defender and midfielder this season for the Aztecs. He put up 18 shots on the year, good for fifth on the team. While none of his shots found the back of the net, Jennings was a strong, consistent performer on the back line for SDSU. Creager and Jennings are the 14th and 15th players who have earned all-MPSF honors under the tutelage of head coach Lev Kirshner. This season was SDSU's last in the MPSF, as the Aztecs will join the Pac-10 for men's soccer beginning next season.
