Aztec Quick Kicks

  • The Aztecs begin a four-game homestand to close out the season this week against Stanford and No. 7 California. SDSU has done exceptionally well against the two teams at home, combining for a 13-2-4 (.789) mark in San Diego. See Scouting the Cardinal and A Look at the Golden Bears, pg. 2

  • SDSU is led by ninth-year head coach Lev Kirshner. See At the Helm, pg. 2

  • Of San Diego State's 12 opponents thus far this season, five are currently nationally ranked and another has been ranked this season. In fact, four of the squad's losses (and two ties) have come against teams in the top-37 of the latest edition of the RPI. See Bring `em On, pg. 3

  • Sophomore Raymundo Reza continued his solid play with another goal last weekend. The midfielder leads the team with 11 points on four goals and three assists. See Reza Roof, pg. 4

  • Despite coming out on the wrong side of the stick this season, seniors Danny Ortiz and Dennis Sanchez have done a good job providing leadership. See A Look at the Captains, pg. 4
