SAN DIEGO - San Diego State men's soccer junior Jordan Ongaro has been named to the Soccer America Team of the Week. It is the third national award the forward has picked up this week. Ongaro helped the Aztecs win both of their games at the UCR/Courtyard by Marriott Soccer Invitational last week. In the game vs. Nebraska Omaha, the junior scored the first goal of the contest to guide SDSU to a 3-2 victory. Then vs. North Florida, Ongaro recorded a hat trick and assisted on a goal, all of which occurred in the first half, as San Diego State won, 9-0. For the week, Ongaro posted four goals and an assist en route to seven points. At the end of the tournament, he was named to the all-tourney squad. Earlier this week, Ongaro landed on TopDrawerSoccer.com and College Sports Madness' national team of the week, while also being named conference player of the week by CSM and the Pac-12. The Aztecs return to the pitch on Friday when they play host to UNLV at 7:30 p.m. PT. |
