SAN DIEGO - San Diego State men's soccer junior forward Jordan Ongaro has been named College Sports Madness National Offensive Player of the Week and Pac-12 Player of the Week. The two honors come on the heels of a nine-point, four-goal, one-assist performance over the weekend at the UCR/Courtyard by Marriott Soccer Invitational in Riverside, Calif. In the 3-2 victory over Nebraska Omaha, Ongaro scored the first goal of the game. Two days later vs. North Florida, the forward scored three first-half goals in the opening 38 minutes, 23 seconds and recorded his seventh point at 44:14 when he assisted on Kody Duff's second of the game. SDSU went on to defeat the Ospreys, 9-0. Earlier today, Ongaro was named to the UCR all-tournament team and landed on TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Week. The Aztecs return to the pitch on Friday when they welcome UNLV to Montezuma Road. First tap is set for 7:30 p.m. PT. |
