Aztec Soccer Heads to the Rocky Mountains This Weekend for Games Against Denver, Air Force
The San Diego State men's soccer team travels to Denver, Colo., for a pair of games this weekend. The Aztecs (1-1-0) will take on Denver (0-3-0) at 4 p.m. MT Friday before facing Air Force (0-3-0) at Noon MT Sunday.

Aztec Quick Kicks

  • The Aztecs travel to Denver, Colo., for games against Denver and Air Force. Although both opponents are 0-3-0 heading into the weekend, each school has a pair of one-goal losses. See Scouting the Pioneers and A Glance at the Falcons, pg. 2

  • With eight goals in two matches, SDSU is ranked third in the country in scoring offense with 4.0 goals per game. The eight goals have come from five different players. See An Offensive Machine, pg. 3

  • Sophomore Raymundo Reza (Denver, Colo.) leads all Pac-10 players and is tied for the 14th in the nation with one goal per game. In addition, his 2.5 points per game is tied for 16th in the country. Through two games, Reza has already eclipsed his season-highs in goals (2), points (5) and shots on goal (5). See Reza Roof, pg. 3-4

  • Freshman Daniel Steres (Calabasas, Calif.) may be a surprise to some, but not to the Aztec coaching staff and players. Steres is tied with Reza and fellow classmate Joe Corona for 14th in the nation with one goal per game. Like Reza, his 2.5 points per game is tied for 16th in D-1. See A Star in the Making, pg. 4

  • Freshman Joe Corona has certainly made his mark one weekend into the 2008 season. The San Diego native and Sweetwater High grad has two goals in just 65 minutes of action. He is tied with Reza and Steres for first in the Pac-10 and 14th in the nation with one goal per game. See My Corona, pg. 4
