SDSU Men's Golf Tied For Ninth After 18 Holes in Hawaii

KAUA'I, Hawaii -- The San Diego State men's golf team sits tied for ninth place with a score of 7-over 295 after the first day of competition at the St. Regis Princeville Warrior-Wave Invitational. SDSU junior Austin Kaiser leads the Aztecs as he sits in a tie for 13th place at the par-72, 7,233-yard St. Regis Princeville Resort Makai Golf Club in Princeville, Kaua'i, Hawaii. On Monday, Kaiser carded an impressive first round of 1-under 71, including one birdie. Freshman Riccardo Michelini, meanwhile, sits tied for 19th place with an even-par score of 72 after 18 holes of action. Sophomore Xander Schauffele posted a 4-over 76 to tie for 48th place, while senior Tom Berry is also tied for 48th after tallying an identical 4-over (76). Rounding out the Aztecs competing in Hawaii is freshman Kevin Ko, who is currently tied for 66th after shooting a 7-over 79.
