ALPHARETTA, Ga. -- The San Diego State men's golf team was unable to improve on its first day showing and dropped to ninth place with a score of 15-over 575 after the second day of competition at the Ping/Golfweek Preview. SDSU senior Tom Berry, however, still remains the sole owner of first place with one day remaining in the tournament at the par-70, 7,248-yard Crabapple Course at Capital City Club in Alpharetta, Ga. On Monday, Berry carded a second round score of 1-under 69, including three birdies, to hold onto sole possession of first place at four-under 136. Freshman Riccardo Michelini wasn't able to find the same success as he fell from a tie for 11th place to a tie for 29th after shooting a three-over 73. Rounding out the Aztec lineup is freshman Robert Gojuangco, who also posted a score of three-over 73 to remain tied for 46th place. Sophomore Xander Schauffele and freshman Gunn Yang are tied for 60th. Schauffele tallied a three-over 73, while Yang shot a four-over 74. The Aztecs wrap up play at The Preview on Tuesday when they are paired with Texas and Texas A&M, beginning at 8:30 am ET.
