Oct. 31, 2013
SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State football team continues its two-game homestand on Saturday night, as it plays host to Mountain West rival New Mexico. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. PT at Qualcomm Stadium and tickets are available starting at a discounted price of $7.
The contest features the Going to College Fair, which will be held prior to the game in Qualcomm Stadium parking lot C2 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. The fair is free and open to the public, as middle school and high school students are encouraged to attend to learn more about SDSU and college in general. There will be representatives from different departments throughout SDSU, including athletics, admission/enrollment, financial aid, the Office of Educational Opportunity Programs and Ethnic Affairs (EOP), Compact for Success, as well as representatives from several SDSU colleges.
In addition, there will be a halftime ceremony honoring the 2013 Aztec Hall of Fame inductees. This year's class includes former men's basketball player Brandon Heath, women's basketball player Michelle Suman, football player Don Warren, track and field coach Charles "Choc" Sportsman and sailing athlete Mark Reynolds.
San Diego State has won three straight meetings against New Mexico, including a 35-7 victory over the Lobos at Qualcomm Stadium in 2011. The Aztecs lead the all-time series, 23-15.
Tickets can be purchased online through GoAztecs.com, over the phone by calling (619) 283-7378, or by visiting the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium Window "E." The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT.
