SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State football team returns home for its Homecoming game against Mountain West foe No. 15/18 Fresno State on Saturday night. The contest is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. PT at Qualcomm Stadium and tickets are available starting at a discounted price of $12.
The game features a pregame carnival in Qualcomm Stadium parking lots G2 and H2 beginning at 3:30 p.m., as food will be available along with free rides. The Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime, while former SDSU standout running back Jim Allison will be this week's Honor Warrior.
Saturday's game is the only contest in the nation this weekend between two teams unbeaten in conference play. San Diego State has won five of its last seven meetings with Fresno State, including a 2011 victory over the Bulldogs, 35-28, at Qualcomm Stadium. The Aztecs lead the all-time series, 27-21-4, and have won nine straight Mountain West games dating back to last season.
Tickets can be purchased online through GoAztecs.com, over the phone by calling (619) 283-7378, or by visiting the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium Window "E." The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT.
San Diego State is coming off a road victory over Air Force, 27-20, on Thursday, Oct. 10. Junior quarterback Quinn Kaehler (San Ramon, Calif.) threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, while freshman Donnel Pumphrey (Las Vegas, Nev.) rushed for a 10-yard touchdown with 1:39 remaining to lift the Aztecs to victory.
