SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State football team returns to action on Saturday as it continues Mountain West play against Colorado State. The 3:30 p.m. PT contest will serve as the annual homecoming contest.
Other festivities are also planned for the team's conference matchup against the Rams as a pep rally has been scheduled for 12 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 11 at Campanile Walkway and Hepner Hall.
On Friday, the 5th annual Marshall Faulk Aztec For Life Homecoming Celebration will take place at the Parma Payne Goodall Alumni Center at 7 p.m. Alumni and guests are encouraged to kick off homecoming with 2011 NFL Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk along with fellow Aztec greats Bud Black, Michael Cage, La'Roi Glover, Freddy Keiaho and many others from around the area as Faulk honors past SDSU President Dr. Stephen L. Weber.
Then on Friday at 9 p.m., Madness on the Mesa will take place across the street at Viejas Arena. Fans will get their first look at the men's and women's basketball teams while enjoying a night filled with music, skill competitions, student contests, and giveaways.
On game day, main parking gates will open at 11:30 a.m. and fans are encouraged to welcome the San Diego State football squad to "The Q" at the Warrior Walk, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. between parking lots E & F. After greeting the team at the Warrior Walk, fans and alumni can visit the Aztec Village in parking lot F-1. The Aztec Village features food and beverages for purchase, as well as live entertainment, performances by the Marching Aztecs, SDSU dance team and cheer squad.
Prior to team introductions, this week's Honor Warrior is Dr. Stephen L. Weber, who will make his appearance at midfield. Weber was the former president of San Diego State University and held that post from July 1996 to July 2011.
Tickets to Saturday's game, which start at just $11, are available through GoAztecs.com, over the phone by calling (619) 283-7378, or by visiting the Aztec Ticket Office at Qualcomm Stadium's Window E between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Aztec Ticket Office will open at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday for the general public and San Diego State students.
