SAN DIEGO - San Diego State's first preseason football scrimmage, Aztec Family Day presented by The San Diego Union-Tribune, is scheduled for this Saturday, Aug. 16, at Qualcomm Stadium. The event will feature traditional activities such as interactive games and the chance for fans to select seats for season tickets.

Family Day, including parking, is a free event, although SDSU will be accepting donations of new stuffed animals that will be given to Rady's Children's Hospital. The stadium opens at 1 p.m., at Gate E, where fans will be welcomed by Tailgate Town in the concourse, which will feature an Aztec apparel clearance sale.

The scrimmage is slated to begin at 2 p.m., and will end at approximately at 3:30 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to get player autographs shortly after the scrimmage, leading up to the annual Kick-Off Dinner, which starts at 5 p.m., on the field.

For those interested in picking their season ticket seats, the select-a-seat segment of Family Day begins at 1 p.m. Fans are encouraged to visit the Aztec ticket office at window E, for more information about season tickets.

The 2008 Kick-Off Dinner presented by the Aztec Athletic Foundation is $50 per person or $500 for a table of eight plus the sponsorship of two student-athletes. Check-in/registration begins at 4 p.m., with the dinner and program to follow at 5 p.m.

Tickets must be purchased in advanced by Aug. 8, through the AAF by calling (619) 594-6444. All proceeds go to benefit the Aztec Athletic Foundation's efforts to provide scholarships for student-athletes.
