SDSU Football Prepares For 50-Play Spring Scrimmage Saturday

April 18, 2008

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State football team completed its ninth workout of spring drills Friday afternoon, running through a short two-hour practice in preparation for Saturday's 50-play intrasquad scrimmage. The scrimmage will be open to the public with the Aztecs slated to hit the field at 1:30 p.m. at their on-campus facility.

Former SDSU offensive lineman Kyle Turley, one of two consensus All-Americans in program history, attended practice on Friday, watching from the sidelines. Dozens of high school and community college coaches also were on hand for the Aztecs' annual coaches' clinic scheduled for Friday and Saturday.

The Aztecs will have four practices next week, before traveling up north Saturday for the annual Red-Black game at Mission Hills High School in San Marcos, Calif., which is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. The Red-Black game will cap the Aztecs' spring practice schedule and is open to the public.
