Corey Boudreaux Gains 6th Year of Eligibility

March 26, 2008

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State football head coach Chuck Long announced Wednesday that football student-athlete Corey Boudreaux has been awarded a sixth-year of eligibility by the NCAA.

Boudreaux, a 6-1, 220-pound senior from Orange, Calif., started all 12 games last season at free safety for the Aztecs. He ended the 2007 campaign with 84 tackles, fourth most on the squad, to go along with three interceptions, a forced fumble and three tackles for loss. He also led the team in pass break-ups with eight last season.

"We are happy and excited for Corey to be an Aztec for another season," Long said. "Another year of football will benefit both him and the team immensely."

Counting Boudreaux, San Diego State returns a total of 12 starters, including eight on the defensive side of the ball, from last season.

The Aztecs will hold their second practice of the spring session on Friday.
