SDSU's Terrell Maze to Play in Las Vegas All-American Classic

Jan. 5, 2007

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior defensive back Terrell Maze (Santa Monica, Calif.) accepted an invitation Friday to play in the 2007 All-American Classic on Monday, Jan. 15, at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev. The sixth annual college football all-star game will be televised on the NFL Network with a scheduled kickoff of 1 p.m. PST.

Maze was SDSU's fifth-leading tackler this past season with 57 stops, including 43 solo efforts. He was also second on the team with seven pass breakups and added one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

Following the 2005 season, Maze received honorable mention all-Mountain West Conference recognition after a junior year in which he logged career highs in tackles (58), interceptions (3) and pass breakups (12). During his Aztec career, the Santa Monica High alumnus appeared in 42 games, recording 136 tackles, four interceptions and 20 pass breakups.

The Las Vegas All-American Classic is one of five postseason all-star games for college seniors and other NFL Draft-eligible players. In last year's contest, former Aztecs Freddy Keiaho and Jasper Harvey represented the Scarlet and Black for the West squad, which fell to the East, 41-3. The All-American Classic was known as the Paradise Bowl in 2002 and 2003 and was played in St. George, Utah.
