San Diego State Head Coach Brady Hoke Quotes

On program's direction:
"I think we've made a lot of progress, but still have a lot of progress to make. From development of our players and in a lot of different areas from strength to the athleticism of the team, instinct of the team at times, as in going to make plays to doing some of the things we have got to do a better job."

On UNLV's play in the fourth quarter (what they did differently):
"You know nothing really. They got the big throw down the sideline when the quarterback scrambled. That is always something we have got to be more aggressive with when we get those defensive matchups, man to man. We had a 15-yard penalty. We had a dumb penalty on a personal foul that you can't get. The 15-yead face mask penalty at the start of the drive was a guy making a play. He made a heck of a pass rush just trying to get to the quarterback. We had some other penalties early in the game that I thought really hurt us."

On looking back on a moment or a play, etc., would it have been different: "I don't know. We were 12-0 a year ago at Ball State and they had peaks and valleys every year. The thing I respect is that our seniors did a great job. Having a transition, having a new staff since January. I'm proud of those kids and their demeanor and how they've acted and how they've worked together. So, that's the biggest thing I guess, is that you're going to miss some of those kids."

On thinking if this was Wyoming all over again:
"Not at all. I don't think our kids were. We made some plays. Defense goes up and gets three and outs a couple of times. Offensively, we moved the ball, but we did nothing else with it. But we've got to finish better."

On heading into the offseason with a four-game losing streak:
"That's the bad thing. You always want to end with momentum to end your season and to take into recruiting and have some momentum in that. It's always disappointing."

On UNLV's play:
"I think Mike's a good football coach. I think it is a shame what has happened to him. I think those kids made some plays. They made some plays and we didn't make plays and that is what it comes down to."

UNLV Head Coach Mike Sanford Quotes

Opening Statement:
"What we talked to the team about was winning for our seniors. This win today is not about me and it's not about the coaching staff, it is about our seniors and our players. I love the senior class. I am very proud of how they played today. I am very proud of how they represented themselves. I think they showed tremendous character. We were down 24-7 and we came back and won. We believed we were going to win."

On the team when it was down by 17 points in the third quarter:
"They believed that they were going to win and we kept fighting. One of the things we have done this year as a football team is kept fighting."

On playing without senior wide receiver Ryan Wolfe:
"We had Ryan Wolfe down and obviously you can't replace Ryan Wolfe but the only way you can is to have your players step up and that is what happened today. Other receivers stepped up. Rodelin Anthony played well, Jerriman Robinson made some great plays and obviously Phillip Payne made some great plays."
