OFFENSIVE NOTES
- SDSU's 157 yards rushing tonight are its most in a single-game this season and most overall since having 226 yards against CSU last year.
- Brandon Sullivan scored a pair of rushing TDs in the first half. It is Sullivan's first career game with multiple rushing TDs.
- SDSU's three rushing scores tonight are the team's most in a game this season. The Aztecs had two rushing scores vs. Southern Utah. The last time SDSU had three rushing TDs in a single outing was in the 2008 finale vs. UNLV.
- Aztec signalcaller Ryan Lindley became just the ninth player in school history to surpass the 5,000-career passing mark, doing so on the team's TD drive in the first quarter. Lindley is ninth in the Aztecs' record book in career passing yards with 5,159. Lindley did not have a touchdown pass, though, breaking a streak of 15 consecutive outings with at least one passing score (he missed the game in 2008 vs. AFA due to injury).
- The offensive line did not give up a sack for the third time in 2009 (also vs. Southern Utah, UCLA).
DEFENSIVE NOTES - With two tonight, the Aztecs have 17 sacks on the year, after only posting 13 in 2008.
SPECIAL TEAMS NOTES -Senior place-kicker Lane Yoshida notched his fifth field goal of the season of 40 or more yards in the third quarter. It was his eighth career field goal of 40-plus yards and he is now 8-for-10 on such kicks in the last two years.
OTHER NOTES -Today's temperature at kick-off was 56 degrees, the coldest home game for the Aztecs since Dec. 1, 2007. -Aztec sophomore defensive lineman J.J. Autele made his first start of the season and the second of his career tonight (last year vs. AF) ... Sophomore defensive lineman Eron Moses played his first career game on special teams. |
