SAN DIEGO (AP) - San Diego St. was unable to hold off San Jose St., who scored the game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter to win 38-34 Saturday night. David Fales threw four touchdown passes, including a 14-yarder to Chandler Jones with 50 seconds left.

The lead was tied once and changed hands four times in the final quarter.

For San Diego St., Adam Muema ran for a career-high 202 yards, including an 83-yard TD in the first half. Walter Kazee added 90 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.

Fales threw touchdown passes of 1 yard to Ina Liaina and a 21-yarder to Noel Grigsby early in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 24. Tyler Ervin returned a kickoff 97 yards for a Spartans touchdown in the first half.
